Carers Bucks Hospital Support Workers
Carer Bucks currently have 3 hospital support workers involved in Bucks hospitals – Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Wycombe General Hospital, Amersham Hospital and also Wexham Park Hospital (Frimley, supporting South Bucks patients across the border).
As part of a joint initiative between Buckinghamshire Healthcare Trust and the charity Carers Bucks, relatives of long-term sick or disabled patients will be offered the chance to meet with a dedicated expert to obtain anything from practical support, advice on legal matters or a space to reflect on the emotional impact of caring for a loved one.
This can include:
- Up-to-date information and advice about carers’ issues
- Help with knowing rights and entitlements
- Help in putting together an emergency plan in case the carer is temporarily unable to fulfil the role
- Somebody to talk to in confidence who understands their situation
- Guidance on health and social care services
